Salt is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Phillip Noyce, written by Kurt Wimmer and Brian Helgeland, and starring Angelina Jolie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Liev Schreiber. Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, accused of being a KGB sleeper agent, on the run to try to clear her name. While Tom Cruise was initially secured for the lead, he was unable to commit to the role because of commitments to other projects, and the script was ultimately rewritten for Jolie. Filming took place on location in Washington, DC and New York City between March and June 2009.
Jolie was taken to the hospital after suffering a head injury on set but was released the same day where filming resumed. On the heels of the incident, Columbia released a statement explaining, "This morning, while filming an action sequence during production of her new movie Salt, Angelina Jolie sustained a minor injury." The studio continued, "As a precautionary measure, Ms. Jolie was taken to a local hospital, examined and released."
Angelina Jolie is a famous for her roles, her philanthropic acts and she is considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. One of her well known movie is Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) with Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, a British archaeologist in her journey to recover a powerful artifact called the All-seeing eye. The movie was released in U.S. theaters on June 15 2001.
The new soon to be released movie Salt stars Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a Russian sleeper spy trying to kill the president of U.S.A. In one of the scenes she jumps off a bridge on top of a trailer truck.
